The intent of Ambivalence is not so much to highlight the juxtaposition between the beautiful and the grotesque, but to acknowledge the innate parallel between the two opposites. Ambivalence explores this idea by gathering images from contrasting sources around the web, most notably from Wellcomme collection, Filmgrab and Flickr. By uniting such drastically dierent images, Ambivalence aims to expose that elusive allure present in both the beautiful and the grotesque.

Ambivalence can be defined as “the state of having mixed feelings or contradictory ideas about something.”
